Pet
Policy at Pony Express RV Resort
Pony
Express RV resort welcomes your dogs. Out
of respect for all of our guests, your pet must be kept under control at all
times and cannot be left outside unattended.
There can be no barking and the dogs must be RV friendly so that it is
not barking while you are gone. They
must be on a leash no longer than 10 feet maximum (includes cats) at all
times. Even well mannered pets can be
distracted by a rabbit or a car passing by or disturbed by the presence of
someone else’s pet with a different temperament. For the safety of all, leashes are required.
Owners
of pets must be willing to pick up after their pet immediately to avoid issues
with neighbors or management. If by
chance you have a unique pet (other than a cat or dog) please discuss with
management prior to making reservations.
No matter where you walk your dog the cleanup after your pet policy is
in effect. The use of your site for your
pet should be limited to emergencies.
Park bushes and trees are landscaping and pets should be discouraged
from using them since we all know, if one does it, they’ll all do it. Our new and very well maintained park does
not allow for fenced in areas for your pet.
Due to
possible intimidation of our guests, we regret we cannot allow Pit Bulls, Rotweilers, Chows, Akitas, Dobermans or
other aggressive breeds deemed by management as high risk. This is true today in most RV parks. If we allow these high risk breeds we run the
risk of losing our insurance. This is
true unfortunately, throughout the industry today. We know that your pets are like family and
we are sorry to have to turn away nice people because of the type or number of
pets, however, we find it necessary in a small park such as ours to enforce
these rules. (This should not surprise
you. We know we are far more lenient
than most where dogs are limited to 15 or 20 pounds and where a fee is
charged.)
Although we know that our pets like to go everywhere that we go, please note that pets are not allowed in any of the park buildings, in the restrooms, or showers, in the pool area, or in the playground area.
An annoying pet, no matter how cute or lovable, will be asked to leave the park and unfortunately the owner will have to accompany them. A guest who does not respect our rules will be reminded that obeying our rules is a condition for their stay as well.
DO NOT LEAVE PETS UNATTENDED IN YOUR RV OR OUTSIDE. As you know most camping facilities do not allow campers to leave pets in an RV. An RV can reach 100 degrees or more in an hour and pets can suffer fatal consequences. We cannot be responsible for the safety of your pet. If you must leave for a short time leave a phone number. We are not allowed to enter a unit under any conditions and in particular not when a dog is present.
CABIN POLICY
To
ensure your comfort we think you will want to know that our cabins provide a
delightful outdoor experience, but they are not the rustic cabin in the woods with
all the comforts of home variety cabin.
They cannot be compared to the traditional mountain cabin retreat. They are as basic as a cabin can be-some
compare it to hard wall tenting. To
increase your experience you should know or bring…
You
will need to provide your own bedding and pillows. We recommend sleeping bags and perhaps even a
bed roll or foam pad similar to those used with most sleeping bags. The mattresses are very firm.
Typical
camping supplies (the cabins are well lit, but you may want outdoor table
lighting.
Although,
due to the fire regulations, there is no cooking or smoking allowed in the
cabins, grills and picnic tables are provided outside for your use.
Typical
outdoor protection (sun protection, mosquito protection, first aid supplies
and/or your regular medication) are suggested.
Two of the
cabins have toilet and shower facilities but most will use the nearby
shower/restroom facilities provided.
We recommend
foot protection. In the hottest months
the asphalt driveways can become dangerously hot.
If you have
not traveled in the west, remember we are at higher elevation (4700 at the
park) so dehydration, sun, and low humidity define our summer months-come
prepared.
There is no
cable, TV, phone service, etc. in the cabins.
There are
not pets allowed in the cabins.
Cabins are open April - October.
